PRIVACY POLICY

1. OVERVIEW

AstraCarta ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

2. DATA WE COLLECT

Birth Data

Date, time, and location of birth. This is processed entirely in your browser and stored in your browser's local storage. We do not transmit or store this data on our servers.

Email Address

If you choose to save your chart, we collect your email address. This is used solely to associate your chart data and communicate with you about the Service.

Payment Information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers, bank details, or other financial information. Stripe's privacy policy governs payment data.

Cookies

We use a single authentication cookie ("astracarta_token") to verify premium access. This cookie is HTTP-only, secure in production, and contains no personal information beyond your plan type.

3. HOW WE USE DATA

  • • Generate your astrocartography reading (processed client-side)
  • • Verify premium access status
  • • Process payments through Stripe
  • • Communicate with you if you've provided an email

4. DATA WE DO NOT COLLECT

  • • We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies
  • • We do not sell, share, or rent your data to third parties
  • • We do not store your birth data on our servers
  • • We do not build user profiles for advertising purposes

5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Stripe

Payment processing. Subject to Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

Vercel

Hosting. Subject to Vercel's privacy policy at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Open-Meteo Geocoding API

Location search. City names you type are sent to Open-Meteo to return coordinates. No personal data is included in these requests.

6. DATA RETENTION

Browser local storage persists until you clear it or click "Start Over." The authentication cookie expires after 24 hours (pass) or 35 days (subscription). Email addresses are retained until you request deletion.

7. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to:

  • • Delete your chart data by clearing your browser storage
  • • Request deletion of your email from our records
  • • Cancel your subscription at any time
  • • Request information about what data we hold about you

8. CHILDREN

The Service is not directed at individuals under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

9. CHANGES

We may update this policy. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance.
